Situated on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains, the Lake Chelan Valley offers a distinct climate for agriculture, especially ideal for growing apples. Growers from the Lake Chelan Valley have been producing world renowned apples for over a century, and many original family orchards continue to operate today.

While cider is relatively new to the region, it has been growing rapidly and will continue to evolve as specialty cider apples and heirloom varieties become more plentiful. Cidermaking is similar to winemaking, as fresh-pressed juice is transformed to cider, through fermentation. Each apple variety can impart specific characteristics to the finished product, making every cider unique, and cider-tasting an educational and interactive way to experience Lake Chelan apples.
